Recently I was talking about the idea of green police as natural guardian and as I have discussed about it on several posts before, now I’m going to talk about it more specifically. The idea of green police as a police officer dedicated to dealing with issues of citizen’s violations of the environmental law and regulation, so in this post I will discuss once again on this topic.

Need to be re-emphasize that the awareness about the environment and the efforts to preserve it should start from ourselves, we must fully realize that environmental sustainability is very important to our lives, and furthermore for our grandchildren in the future. As known by now, the level of pollution from vehicle emissions, and from the industry is more and more has changed our environment, it becomes worse than before. Day by day the earth is tends to be unfriendly to us, natural disasters come without warning. Possible correlation between pollution and natural disasters could not be linked straightly, but it remains still because most of disasters happened nowaday is caused by human mistakes itself, for example of disaster caused by human’s attitude e.g. floods and landslides, which most likely caused by the depletion of forests due to human cleared the trees for use as residential land, industrial matter and so on.

So here in the Ohio area especially the bowling green district, the local police have been empowered its members to form a green police unit which oversees the citizens, warned them and do neccessary action against the violators of environmental law and regulations. This needs positive support from the community, especially when seeing a violation of environmental laws. It is also important to provide special education and debriefing on the community so that people surely know about the environmental laws and regulation because however self awareness is more important than anything.
